Job Vacancy: Instrument & Small Bore Pipe Fitter

Position:Instrument/Small Bore Pipe Fitter
Hours of Work:Full Time – 37.5 Hours per week (Basic)
Although overtime is not guaranteed, average hours are 50+ per week for around 10 months of the year.

Remuneration Package:

  • £21.84 per hour
  • Company Van
  • Overtime is paid at time and a half after 37.5 hrs including travel time
  • Saturdays – first 6hrs at time and a half, double time thereafter
  • Sundays – Double time all day
  • 22 days annual leave plus Statutory Bank Holidays
  • SSP – in accordance with government regulations
  • Company Pension Scheme (after 3 months probationary period) – Company will match
    your contribution up to 6%
  • Training is provided by the company along with supported career development

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

  • CCNSG Safety Passport
  • Swagelok Pipe Installation Training
  • Must have Full UK Clean Driving Licence

Desirable Qualifications/Experience:

  • SHEA Passport
  • SCO1 & 2
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with Clients at all levels
  • Ability to travel at short notice including long distance
  • Team player
  • Willing to work overtime when required including working away from home Monday – Friday
  • Awareness of H+S regulations on site

Job specification / duties

Duties detailed below but not limited to:

  • Ensure Simkiss quality standards are met
  • Ensure safety standards on site are met (H+S /CDM Regulations)
  • Perform tasks as instructed by the site supervisor
  • Work well in a team
  • Reading and following pipe & instrument design drawings
  • Installation of containment for pipe supports, tray work, Unistrut etc
  • Ability to use pipe benders to bend various sizes of stainless-steel tube, Ranging from 1/8” –
    1/2”
  • Pressure testing pipe connections between instruments confidently using compressed air and
    identify leaks using snoop fluid
  • Work remotely on site confidently
  • Provide support to the site team during down time, such as, pulling of cables, containment
    work, general activities.

unsupervised and as part of a team.
